Terms of service
Version 2026-10-28 · linuxstreamer · Privacy policy
These terms are the agreement between you and me, Johnny, the person who
runs linuxstreamer (contact:
contact@noodlebyte.org).
By accepting them when you sign in, you agree to them. How your data is
handled is described in the privacy policy, which
is part of this agreement.
1. The service
linuxstreamer gives you a virtual machine running Steam, streamed to
your browser. It is a private, free, non-commercial service for people
I have invited. There is no fee, and nothing about it is sold.
2. Who can use it
- Only people I have given an account to.
- You must be 13 or older. If you are under 16, or under the age of
digital consent where you live if that is higher, you need a parent's
or guardian's permission.
- Your account is for you alone. Do not share your password or let
others use your account, and tell me if you think someone else has
access to it.
3. Your Steam account and your games
- You use your own Steam account, and you remain bound by Steam's
Subscriber Agreement and by the licence terms of every game you play.
You are responsible for using them within those rules.
- Only play games your own account owns. The shared
library stores each game once for everyone, but it does not give
anyone a licence: Steam only lets each account play what it owns, and
you must not try to get around that.
- Uninstalling a game from the shared library removes it for everyone
who uses it. Do not remove games others are using without asking.
- Do not use the service to cheat in online games, or in any way that
breaks a game's or platform's rules.
4. Acceptable use
You must not use the service to:
- do anything illegal, or store or share illegal content;
- infringe anyone's copyright or other rights, for example by
downloading or distributing pirated software, games or media;
- attack, scan or disrupt other computers or networks, send spam, or
hide malicious activity behind the server's internet connection;
- try to break out of your virtual machine, reach the server itself
or other users' machines, or get around the service's limits or
security;
- mine cryptocurrency, or run anything that uses the shared server's
resources in a way unrelated to playing games, that degrades the
service for others;
- harass other users or misuse their information.
Anything you do from your machine appears to the outside world as
coming from the server's internet connection, so please treat it as you
would someone else's connection that they lent you.
5. Fair use of a shared server
- The server is shared, so the number of machines that can run at
once is limited. If all slots are in use, you may have to wait.
- A machine nobody is watching is switched off after a period of
inactivity (unless Steam is downloading), and its disk is kept.
- Some games may not work, or may not work well, on the server's
graphics hardware. I may stop a game from running on the service if
it causes problems for other users.
- Storage is limited. Prefer installing games to the shared library,
and do not fill the server with large amounts of unrelated data.
6. Availability and changes
The service is provided free of charge, as it is, and as available.
I may change it, pause it for maintenance, or stop it altogether, and I
will try to give notice when I can. Keep your own copies of anything
important: save files synced by Steam Cloud are safe in your Steam
account, but other files on your machine exist only on the server.
7. Responsibility
Because the service is free and run privately, I am not liable for
loss of data, interruptions, or problems with games or third-party
services, except where the law does not allow that liability to be
excluded -- for example for harm caused intentionally or through gross
negligence, or where mandatory consumer law where you live says
otherwise. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under the
mandatory law of the country where you live.
8. Ending your account
- You can stop using the service at any time, and ask for your
account and your machine's disk to be deleted, or for a copy of your
disk first.
- I may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or when
the service ends. Except in serious cases, I will tell you first and
give you a chance to get your files.
9. Changes to these terms
If I change these terms, the new version gets a new date and you are
asked to accept it before you can use your machine again. If you do not
accept, you can stop using the service and ask for your data to be
deleted.
